Directions

Once at the school, please enter for the show through the double doors numbered 23 at the southeast end of the building. You may load and unload at door 20 at the east end of the building (as there are no steps there), but you must move your car to the parking lot after you are done.

Directions from I-90:
From I-90 you can exit from the west and from the east onto Randall Road. Take Randall Road south, past Route 20 and Elgin, to the stop light at Red Haw Lane (at the top of the hill). Turn left (the only way you can go) onto Red Haw Lane, come down the hill, and you will see the school on the left. Drive the block past the school and take the second street to the left, Thornly Rd, at the end of the block, to enter the parking lot.

Directions from I-88:
From I-88 you can exit from the west and from the east onto Farnsworth Avenue north. Take Farnsworth Avenue north, past Batavia, and you will go past FermiLab and the Kane County Cougars Stadium. When you cross Route 38 in Geneva, Farnsworth becomes Kirk Road. Continue on Kirk Road going north until you reach the stop light at Route 64 (Main Street). Turn left on Main Street, going west. Cross the Fox River and turn right two blocks (2 blocks on the left, one block on the right) past the river at Route 31 (Second Street). Just past where the road goes down to one lane, turn left onto the second street, Indian Mound road. (If you take the turn on Route 31 and go up along the river, you've gone too far.) Take Indian Mound up the hill and at the stop sign, turn left onto Red Haw Lane. Go one block and turn right onto Thornly Rd, where you will see the school.

6. This year we regret to announce that we will not be able to honor seating preferences for show entrants. The only exceptions to this are as follows: special exhibitor medical needs, vendor table needed adjacent to show table, multiple family tables (i.e. parent-child pairs). Exhibitors will be offered a first-come, first-choice table selection EACH day.
7. EVERY ENTRY IN EVERY CLASS WILL HAVE HALF A 3 x 5 CARD WITH IT WITH THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: Side 1: Class name and number, and horse's breed and gender. Side 2: Horses name and owners assigned initials. In addition, entrants may use string tags with the same information to prevent confusion as horses are removed from the ring. OF Plastic horses entering both breed and collectability will need two cards (i.e. One for class 23 Thoroughbreds Breed and one for class 65 Thoroughbreds Collectability).
8. The doors to the hall open at 4 pm. Friday, and at 7 am. Saturday and Sunday.
9. Any relative of a judge is ineligible to show in that judge’s division.

Champions will be determined by a combination of the following: total point value of applicable class placings, point averaging, and judge’s decision. Classes like Anything Goes, and Animals and Fantasy Figures do not count towards championships.
13. No smoking in the building per state law.

The Friday Performance Challenge

Performance Challenge classes are not NAN Qualifying classes.

Performance Challenge classes are not NAN Qualifying classes.
The Performance Challenge is a long standing Great Lakes Congress tradition. Exhibitors show against each other with the very same model--and it is a secret until the first class is about to start! Models will be traditional scale and exclusive only to the performance challenge. And, exhibitors get to keep the exclusive Peter Stone mystery model! (What a deal!) The Performance Challenge will be held on Friday, April 4th, at 5 pm. Cost for entering is $65. Entries in the Performance Challenge are limited to 22 exhibitors. Entries must be received by March 12, 2008. Entries will be chosen by a random drawing on March 15, 2008. All entrants must follow all entry guidelines to be eligible for the Performance Challenge. Failure to follow these instructions will result in a disqualification of the entry.

All performance challenge entries must submit the Performance Challenge Entry form in addition to the GLC Live entry form. Entries must be accompanied by full payment and a SASE for notification of entry in the challenge. All undrawn entries will be returned. All entrants must abide by these rules: Only one entry is allowed in the Performance Challenge per family. Exhibitors must compete in every Performance Challenge class (get creative!). Models may not leave the ring once the classes have started. Tardiness to the Performance Challenge will result in forfeiture of entry and a refund.
