Each show has show results. As your horse places in a show, you should write down the placings while you are at the event. However, after the show has concluded, the show holder will publish typed results that serve as a permanent record of the show and its placings.
GLC sends its typed results to the North American Model Horse Shows Association (NAMHSA). If your horse placed first or second in a class, he or she would receive a card that we refer to as a NAN (North American Nationals) card. This card is the ticket to your horse’s entry in the North American National’s Show, which is a national competition for high-ranking horses. GLC applies to NAMHSA for classlist approval so we can be classified as an approved show, which allows us to award NAN cards. NAN cards are not only handy for those who show competitively. In some cases a seller can show that the model is “NAN Qualified,” which can increase the value of the horse. Great Lakes Congress has been holding shows since 1984. We will first post computerized results, which date back to 2002. We will then post scanned-in results, which are earlier documents.
These results are an interesting compilation of our history and events. As you’ll notice, our show dates moved around, depending on site availability. We did not have shows during the pandemic. Show results are fun to read because you’ll see some names from the past, and perhaps some horses of your own!
